'Buzz' Bug Newsletter

Our History

The Bug Lab's last day of business in New Westminster was March 25, 2010. We moved and merged with Honeybee Centre located in Cloverdale, and are excited to become the Bees and Bugs Lab. It is with great happiness that we made this decision, although we will miss being a part of New Westminster's downtown community.

We want to thank all of you who visited the Bug Lab in our seven years operating in New Westminster. We thoroughly enjoyed hearing about your bug stories, learning about the bug facts you learned in school, and trying to figure out the names of the 100's of bugs you brought us to identify over the years. Owning and operating a small business in New Westminster was incredibly rewarding, and the merchants, citizens and community spirit of our city are what made our business such a success. It was time for something new, and I (Jennifer, the owner) love talking and learning about bugs, and will continue to work in this field in a different capacity.

There are so many people that made the Bug Lab a great success. We want to thank the staff and residents at the Cliff Block and Lookout Aid Society, Mayor Wayne Wright, Hyack Festival, Alex Sweezy, members of the media who invited us on their television shows and wrote nice recommendations in their articles, the great employees that I have had the pleasure to meet and work with over the years, the thousands of school children and many teachers who visited us, my friends who helped and encouraged me through the many different changes over the years, and my family, including my incredibly supportive father who gave me business advice, taught me business savvy, and kept my accounting impeccable.
